Thank you for your interest in participating in the Maryland Transfer Student Success Intensive!

What is the Transfer Intensive?
The Maryland Statewide Transfer Intensive (Maryland Intensive) aims to improve community college transfer outcomes across the state of Maryland. Institutions will engage in up to a year of monthly virtual and in-person workshops to improve their transfer practices and partnerships. The work of this project is led in partnership with the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) with philanthropic support from the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.
Why the Transfer Promise Matters:
  • 73% of family-sustaining wage jobs in Maryland favor those with a bachelor’s degree.
  • The median lifetime earnings for a Marylander with a bachelor's degree are $1.4 million higher than for those without one.
  • 23% of Maryland community college students transfer to a Maryland four-year institution within six years of entry, a fraction of community college students who aspire to attain a bachelor’s degree.
  • 59% of students graduate with a bachelor’s four years after transferring to a Maryland four-year institution.
  • Nearly 20,000 first-time undergraduate students in Maryland start at community college each year, 93% of whom are Maryland residents.
