Applicants under the age of 18 must have and provide a parent or legal guardian's permission to enter.

Following the successful release of its School Sports Equity toolkit, the Sports and Society program at the Aspen Institute has partnered with The Allstate Foundation to launch Service Learning through Sports (SLS), a support and enrichment program for U.S. high school students committed to serving their community through sports. The Aspen Institute will identify up to five (5) passionate young people who are either currently leading, or plan to lead, a sports-focused project or initiative that aims to serve others by addressing a recognized community need in sport and/or physical activity. SLS will support each selected recipient’s project with a $2,000 micro-grant and provide mentorship related to leadership development and project management. Aspen and Allstate will invite recipients, along with their parent/legal guardian, to attend a one-day retreat to explore ways to improve their project. All recipients will be invited to attend the Project Play Summit.
